YOUTH

Luke 2:52 Youth Group
6:30 pm Thursdays, August through May
Ages: 6th grade - 12th grade

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.”  Luke 2:52

This verse inspires our youth to grow in their knowledge and faith as they navigate their teenage years and our youth group is here to help them do just that. Our group meets midweek throughout the school year in the evenings at First United Methodist Church. Occasionally we have off-site activities and parties. We tackle service projects and enjoy games and social time together. Two favorite social events are our annual Christmas party and a summer trip to Dari B and Ga-Ga Ball game in nearby Linear Park.

Participants in our youth group grow their knowledge of the Bible and God’s Word, study stories of men and women who were faithful to God, and hear lessons of God’s steadfast love and plan of salvation for all people. Our goal is for young people to accept Jesus as their Savior, have a strong support group of Christian brothers and sisters, and be able to use the Bible as a life guide through trials as well as celebrations.

Confirmation Class

We offer confirmation classes as needed for students in middle school. Confirmation is the season in life when a young person claims Jesus and the Christian faith for themselves. Through confirmation, students “confirm” their baptismal vows and make a public profession of their faith in Christ. Confirmation classes cover topics such as the Holy Trinity, the incarnation of Jesus Christ, the sacraments of Baptism and Communion, prayer, spiritual gifts, sharing our faith with others, and basic United Methodist history and doctrinal beliefs. Please contact Pastor Shannon if you have a student interested in participating in confirmation.
